Hosts can now open the chat before the event is active

The chat used to stay locked until the event reached its minimum number of participants. Hosts can now choose to open it right away so everyone who's joined can start talking.

How to use it

If you're hosting an event, you'll find the option in the menu in the top-right corner of your event page. Tap Open chat and everyone who has joined gets immediate access to the group chat — even before the event is active.

Want to close it again? The same option is right there. You stay in control the whole time the event is pending.

Why it matters

An event that hasn't reached its minimum yet is at its most uncertain stage. People have signed up but they don't quite know if it's going to happen. When you as a host can welcome them in the chat, share practical info or just say "good to have you on board," two things change.

The people who joined early feel part of something instead of waiting in silence. And the people who are curious but haven't committed yet can see that the event is moving — which makes it much easier for them to jump in.

It also lets you start coordinating sooner. Pick a meeting spot, share a link to the venue, ask if someone can bring a speaker. The kind of small things that would otherwise wait until the last minute.
